The North Carolina Reading Association is proud to be the only professional association in North Carolina that supports local councils. Leaders work collaboratively to serve the mission of the organization. The DETAILS section under COUNCILS identifies local chapters and their leaders.
The Executive Committee, Area Directors, and Chairpersons of Committees make up NCRA’s Board of Directors. Committee chairpersons, appointed by the president, work with officers and NCRA members to advance the work of the state organization. Area directors work with the leaders of local councils, the state coordinator, other state officers and committee members to develop ideas and programs that promote literacy.
NCRA holds a Leadership Conference each summer over three days in June and sponsors two members from each local council. The State Coordinator and NCRA President develop the agenda and other activities for the conference.
