Conference Hotel: Marriott City Center is SOLD OUT

  • The Marriott Downtown Raleigh is totally booked for Sunday, March 10 & Monday, March 11, but here are some alternative hotels nearby. These are hotels with available rooms located near the Raleigh Convention Center. The Clarion has given us a group rate for those two dates. Book your room as soon as possible:

Clarion State Capital
320 Hillsborough Street
Raleigh, NC 27603
(919) 832-0501

  • Provides the most reasonable alternative to the Marriott. Must call this number and tell guest services they are making a group reservation for the NC ReadingAssociation (rate includes complimentary parking & internet service). Hotel is located 5 blocks from convention center, but a complimentary bus, the R-Line has pickup one block south of the hotel and runs 7am – 11 pm Monday – Wednesday, and1:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday. They have plenty of rooms available for Sunday and Monday nights, March 10 & 11th. This used to be the Holiday Inn (but has been remodeled) – it’s the tall round building you’ve seen if you’ve been to downtown Raleigh.

Sheraton Downtown Raleigh
421 S Salisbury St
Raleigh, NC 27601-1730
(919) 834-9900

  • They are right across from convention center, near the Marriot, but their rate is significantly more than the group rate was at the Marriott (over $200) – and you have to pay for parking. We don’t have a group rate with them because we had a bad experience with them a couple of years ago.

Hampton Inn & Suites
600 Glenwood Ave.
Raleigh, NC 27603
Area: Glenwood South (adjacent to downtown Raleigh)
(919) 825.4770

  • Located at Glenwood South, about 12 blocks from the convention center, but located on the complimentary R-line bus route (see explanation under Clarion State Capital).
